If you recall, there was a mini music player in Windows Doors that randomly played a song from the Newgrounds Audio Portal. Many people enjoyed that little feature, and have suggested I make a full version.

Well, I've started on Newgrounds Radio and it's going along quite nicely, especially with my newfound AS3 skills. With the AS3 computeSpectrum(); method, I can dynamically create images based on the sound playing through the Flash movie. That means not only will you be able to listen to over 300,000 tracks from Audio Authors from NG, you'll be able to see them as well.

First screenshot: It's nothing much, but it's a glimpse of one of the visual effects.

Look: works for about 2 seconds and then gets security problems and ComputeSpectrum fails.

Radiogrounds isn't very popular (22 Users Ever Online At Once) and it doesn't play songs from the Audio Portal. It plays actual songs.

MY radio on the other hand, plays songs from the Newgrounds Audio Portal.

That's an interesting concept, but I can't imagine how that'd be possible, given the fact that I can only LOAD songs from the portal. The process of getting their ID3 tags is somewhat flawed, and it only works for some.

Lol, you remind me of my friend, who is also named Jonathan and also loves Halo 3. He's also (procrastinating) learning Flash.

Well, the switch to AS3 was not hard at all for me, seeing as I was an expert at AS2. Basically, it is cleaner and the "_" before all the MovieClip properties has been removed. I suggest getting a book, those are good.
